About Flamingo Point USVI Water Island
Flamingo Point USVI is an oceanfront vacation rental located on the Southwestern-most tip of Water Island at the end of Flamingo Point Road.
Located in the US Virgin Islands, the vacation rental home on Water Island is situated oceanfront on a point, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. To the south, you'll have a view of Buck Island and St. Croix. To the west you'll enjoy sunset views all year round and also views of Saba, Sail Rock, Vieques, Culebra, Savannah, Flat Rock Cay, Porpoise Rocks and Puerto Rico. To the north, St. Thomas. From the deck you can see the entire west end of St. Thomas and airport, the university of the US Virgin Islands, and the top of cruise ships that are docked in Crown Bay at Babe Monsanto cruise ship terminal. Flamingo Point USVI is the perfect viewing area to watch a constant parade of all sorts of vessels including sail boats, cruise ships, barges, yachts, small fishing boats, and commercial fishing boats. On the southeast corner of the property is the remains of one of the lookout posts that was built by the US army during the construction of Ft. Segarro in 1944. At night everything changes! The lights over St. Thomas are spectacular. The sky comes alive with stars, planets, falling stars, the moon, passing satellites, and the international space station.
Your accommodations are located on the upper level or main home which has a "split" floor plan with two bedrooms and one bath located on the south side of the house and two bedrooms/one bath located on the North side - the Great Room (kitchen, dining and living room) with a vaulted ceiling in-between. You can access the entire property from either level. Guests have access to the main level of the home as well as the middle unit on the lower level of the home for laundry, billiard/pool table, and beach toys. There are no stairs or steps to cross the short distance from the expansive parking area to the front door. This makes carrying luggage and groceries a breeze. The property has a large grassy area as well as a large parking/turn-around area - - very unique for properties on Water Island.
The main home supports up to 8 persons (2 per room). If you have more than 8 persons in your crew, Flamingo Point USVI can accommodate an additional 2 persons in the “Flamingolow” (one bedroom/king size bed, 1 full 3 piece bath and living area) on the lower level for an additional charge. The Flamingolow is only available in conjunction with the main home.
All water on Water Island comes from Mother Nature. Rain water collection storage tanks called cisterns at Flamingo Point USVI are made of 100% FDA approved materials which meet the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) requirements for safe storage of drinking water (potable water). Additionally the water in the house, the outside showers and front hose bib is sanitized through large and small sediment filters as well as a large UV and filtration (“Sanitron”) system.
THE BEDROOMS: The home has 4 private bedrooms each with a King size bed and large windows. In addition to large windows, three of the four bedrooms have direct access to the wide, covered wrap-around porch via an 8 foot wide sliding glass door. Guests sleep comfortably on 400 thread count linens. All bedrooms have 6 drawer dressers and plenty of closet space with hangars. A unique differentiator from other Water Island homes that "sleep 8" - Flamingo Point truly sleeps 8 persons comfortably offering private bedrooms where guests can close the doors and seclude themselves from the active main areas of the home. For ultimate privacy, each cluster of bedrooms and bathrooms can further extend privacy by closing the door that separates them from the great room. Guests will not find themselves sleeping on a futon, sleeper sofa, trundle bed, or air mattress. Everyone gets to sleep in a spacious king size bed! Each couple will have their own private space to retreat for quiet relaxation, sleeping, or a serious power nap. The 60" blade ceiling Haiku fans in every bedroom are super quiet and push air throughout the room. Once you experience these ceiling fans, you will love them as much as we do.
THE LIVING ROOM: This area of the home offers very comfortable seating for at least 8 persons - 2 couches and a love seat, end tables, 2 large coffee tables, ottoman, desk, game cabinet - all the comforts of home. The large 65” high definition TV in the corner of the living room area can be viewed from any angle or position in the great room. There is a desk in the northwest corner as well as an 8 foot sliding glass door leading directly to the wide, covered wrap-around porch. Lots of board games in the cabinet in the great room (dominos, monopoly, Texas Hold 'em poker game set, Jinga, etc.). Additionally, the portable music player/stereo system is stationed on a cabinet in the living room area. Cross ventilation is enhanced by 2 Haiku ceiling fans - each with their own separate control - over the living room area.
THE DINNING ROOM: Truly an open concept located in the Great room, the dining room offers comfortable seating for 8-10 around a beautiful, large teak dining table. A ceiling fan as well as dimmable lighting provides that ambiance you want to create for those special meals with friends and family.
THE KITCHEN: The kitchen area is large and modern. In addition to the chest freezer, we have a large 28 cubic foot 4 door refrigerator/freezer, range with oven, full size microwave and dishwasher. Tall spacious cabinets and plenty of prep space on Silestone countertops. From bright task lighting to more subtle evening lighting as well as 60" blade Haiku ceiling fan, you will feel at ease in this kitchen. Whatever your cooking expertise, you should find everything you need to chop, bake, fry, grill, broil or sauté. In the louvered door pantry you will find small electric appliances and lots of space to store your groceries and other provisions. We enjoy cooking so guests will find the kitchen well stocked including:
cooking utensils, pizza stone, casserole baking dishes, etc...everything you have at home and then some!

Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker, burr coffee bean grinder and coffee filters
food processor, mix master, hand mixer, Vitamix Blender, bread machine.
Bathrooms : (2) 3 piece bathrooms. Both have a walk-in shower. Outdoor shower on the lower level.
THE DECKS: The front of the house (east side) opens onto a large uncovered deck. The back of the house (west side) opens onto a large covered wraparound porch. Both levels of the home are completely wrapped by the porch/deck. The total deck area is ~3,000 square feet!
THE LOWER LEVEL: You and your crew will have access to the middle unit downstairs which contains beach rafts, snorkel gear and noodles, hard-sided coolers and other miscellaneous items you might find useful during your stay. In this unit downstairs also is washer and dryer which we try to keep some laundry detergent and fabric softener available on the shelf above. We do ask that you conserve water usage and electrical consumption (limited and/or expensive resources) as much as possible by doing only full loads. And finally, you’ll find a pool table also in this unit.
FLAMINGOLOW: In conjunction with the main home we can also offer a 1 bedroom, full bathroom, and living area on the lower level of the home. Maximum occupancy 2 people. See the “Rates” page for pricing information.

The rate includes one set-up of bed and bath linens and amenities (toilet paper, paper towel, kitchen sponge, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, hand soap). If you run out of any of the amenity items, just pick some up the next time you're in St. Thomas.

Upon arrival at Phillips Landing (Water Island ferry landing), our property manager will meet and assist guests in transporting their luggage, if needed, to the house. (If you find you need assistance with transporting your luggage to the ferry landing on departure/check-out day, please let our property manager know in advance.) Once guests and luggage are ready to go, guests will follow our property manager to Flamingo Point USVI where she will help you get acquainted with the house, answer any questions then leave you to enjoy your vacation.
